You’re right. I wrote “gay marriage” when I simply meant to write “gay issues.” Romney did flip-flop on “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,” but has always been a staunch opponent of gay marriage and civil unions. I apologize for the error, I’ll make sure and edit the post.

Romney was never for gay marriage. It was never a real issue when ‘gay rights’ was debated back in the 90’s. Romney had to deal with the gay marriage issue in Massachusetts when the Supreme Court ruled on it, but he limited gay marriage by enforcing an old law that said only residents of Massachusetts could be married in the state, so as Mass. would not become a “Las Vegas” for gay marriages.
