I watched the same interview, and Jafarzadeh did not say that the U.S. should reach out to Moussavi supporters; rather, he said, Obama should reach out to the Iranian youth who are demonstrating against the entirety of the regime. There is a big difference.
He said they should “reach out to the sentiment of the younger population.”
In other words, they should reach out to those protesting the election results, aka, Mousavi supporters (for the most part).
